According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich is out of the race for Dušan Vlahović…for now. There is a chance, however, that the Bavarians could kick the tires on the Serbian
at a later date if he is not scooped up by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea FC, or Manchester United:
Dušan Vlahović is no longer part of the club’s transfer plans, for the moment. There was interest in the Serbian, but I think the club’s thought process at the moment is revolving around Harry Kane’s brilliant form and performances. Having two big strikers at the club isn’t always so easy, as Vlahović will undoubtedtly want frequent game time as well, and he’d want a big salary, even as a free agent.
The other thing we heard is that many Premier League clubs are behind them, Tottenham is leading the race. Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested. So, you know, if such clubs are already at the table, it then becomes a question of moneu (potentially a lot of money).
If Bayern Munich could get Vlahović as a free agent and say, “Hey, perhaps you don’t earn as much,” there would have been a chance. But with these clubs at the table, FC Bayern are not prepared to open talks at the moment.
There would be no reason for Vlahović to sign with Bayern Munich for as long as Harry Kane is at the club. At the moment, it sure seems like Kane will be staying through at least 2027 — and could even extend for another year or two past that if he wants to.
Bayern Munich is steamrolling into the week and is scorching hot.
Hotter than hot.
Blazing hot.
However you want to put it, the Bavarians are riding high and playing better than they have at point since 2020. This has truly been a fun ride to watch, but it is far from over. In the midst of all of that, we have a ton of news going on and a lot of it (hell, all of it) is positive at this stage.
Let’s get into all of it here. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- After extending the deal of Vincent Kompany, is there a contract extension at Bayern Munich for Manuel Neuer? The process might be starting.
- Nick Woltemade could be looking at a long-term future at…Bayern Munich? Why the timing could actually work out for the Newcastle United star to return to Germany when the time is right.
- A listener Q&A segment
- Wrapping up HBO’s Task.
