You’d think I’d learn to look ahead at the schedule, but no, that it is a day game today caught me by surprise.
Also surprising me, Anthony Santander will begin his rehab assignment in Buffalo today. I don’t know how long they will keep him down there. The Bisons have ten games left. I’d imagine Santander will need at least five games before he’s ready to come back.
There is a name in the lineup I don’t recognize. Schneider? I know we have a manager by that name, but not a player.
Kevin Gausman is having a nice stretch of good starts. In his last 13 games, he has a 2.61 era and has completed at least 5 innings in each. He has 78 strikeouts and 20 walks in 82.2 innings.
In his last two starts, he’s gone seven and eight innings giving up just one run in each. Maybe he could go nine today. And perhaps we could score the guy some runs.
Going into the ninth with a big lead would do a lot for my confidence.
Trey Yesavage had another good outing, I’d love to see him come up, even if he only gets into a couple of games. I’d like to have him see he can get major league players out, and set him up for success in a starting role next year.
