Monaco chief executive officer Thiago Scuro spoke about Ansu Fati’s future after unveiling Sébastien Pocognoli as the club’s new manager.
Pocognoli has replaced Adi Hutter as boss and will be hoping he
can enjoy a strong season in Ligue 1 after taking the reins.
Fati has been in great form for Monaco before the international break, but Scuro says this is not the time to talk about a permanent move for the Barcelona loanee.
“It isn’t a topic for us,” he told reporters. “The topic is just continuing to provide Fati the conditions to allow him to keep having minutes and being an important and consistent player for AS Monaco.
“The business side is not important now. At the right time, we will make the decision. Monaco are protected in this situation by the agreement that we have with the player and Barca. The target is performance and keeping him on the pitch.”
Monaco do have a purchase option in his loan deal which is thought to be around €11 million. Barcelona are also believed to have a preferential buy-back option in the transfer.
