Yesterday, we asked you about your favorite Day 3 pick from the Ravens’ 2026 draft class. Now, we want to know the opposite.
Sure, fans are going to support all of Baltimore’s new players. But they can still have their opinions on who the Ravens should (and should not) have drafted, especially in a draft class with such a wide range of evaluations. So, let’s keep things respectful, but: which of the Ravens’ Day 3 picks was your least favorite? As a reminder, here are the options:
- Indiana WR Elijah Sarratt (Round 4, No. 115 overall)
- SMU TE Matthew Hibner (Round 4, No. 133 overall)
- Duke CB Chandler Rivers (Round 5, No. 162 overall)
- Alabama TE Josh Cuevas (Round 5, No. 173 overall)
- Clemson RB Adam Randall (Round 5, No. 174 overall)
- Michigan State P Ryan Eckley (Round 6, No. 211 overall)
- Michigan DT Rayshaun Benny (Round 7, No. 250 overall)
- Northwestern OL Evan Beerntsen (Round 7, No. 253 overall)
Nikhil’s take: I’m
torn. I love Elijah Sarratt as a prospect, but selecting him directly after taking USC wideout Ja’Kobi Lane felt like an unnecessary, possibly redundant double-dip. There’s some logic here – the Ravens have struggled to draft and develop prototypical X receivers, so why not take a stab at two you like in the same draft? But back-to-back, with a number of solid players at other positions – namely, center – still on the board? I don’t love it.
The same is true of trading up – a rare EDC gambit – for SMU tight end Matthew Hibner in the fourth round. The 2027 sixth-rounder used to make the move is of little consequence, though next year’s draft class is projected to be significantly better than this year’s. But again, there were centers to be had. Only Auburn’s Connor Lew, who is coming off a torn ACL, went between the Ravens’ two fourth-rounders, but Kansas State’s Sam Hecht and Alabama’s Parker Brailsford were taken shortly after Hibner. Both were top-100 players on Baltimore Beatdown’s big board and would have filled the team’s most glaring need. Sure, they needed to add tight end depth too, but there were plenty available late into Day 3.
Clearly, the Ravens did not love the centers in this class behind Jake Slaughter and/or Logan Jones, who were taken between Baltimore’s second and third picks. Passing up Zion Young at 45 (and even Lane at 80) may have been tough, but prioritizing Sarratt and Hibner over a center could end up burning the Ravens in the short- and long-term.
Now, it’s your turn! In the comments section, tell us who your leaset favorite Ravens Day 3 pick from this year’s draft and why!
