The San Francisco 49ers have multiple Pro Bowlers on their roster. Trent Williams, Christian McCaffrey, Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, and George Kittle are basically in the running each season they are healthy to make the Pro Bowl. In recent seasons, the Pro Bowl has lost some of its luster with selections of alternates for players who either decline the invitation or are playing in the Super Bowl. Still, being a Pro Bowler is a great honor and can likely trigger extra money for players through incentives
in their contract.
Which 49ers player is most likely to be a first-time Pro Bowler?
Deommodore Lenoir
This selection seems logical given Lenoir’s importance as the 49ers’ best cover corner and the boost of Raheem Morris as the defensive coordinator. 2025 was a down season for the 49ers’ defense and Lenoir. Allowing five touchdowns in coverage after allowing zero in 2024 was a step back for Lenoir. The sixth-year cornerback is set for a bounce-back season, and if the interceptions start to increase, it will be hard to deny “The Hyena.”
Dominick Puni
2025 was an interesting season for the right guard. His season was off to a weird start after suffering a freak injury during a preseason game against the Raiders. Puni was clearly playing through the injury, but his 2024 form flashed later in the season once he got clear of the injury. With a clean bill of health, if Puni can put together a full, healthy season, the former Kansas lineman will have a strong case to be a Pro Bowler.
Ricky Pearsall
There is no doubt about Pearsall’s talent. The concerns are injury-related, but now with Mike Evans in the fold as the primary “X” receiver, Pearsall has a chance to expand on his early-season success from 2024 and take the next step. With the attention on Evans, McCaffrey, and Kittle, Pearsall will have his opportunities against an opposition’s less talented corners and is fully capable of getting open and making plays.
Honorable Mention: Colton McKivitz
The reason I chose Puni over McKivitz is the competition across the NFC at right tackle. McKivitz has been very solid and, depending on which advanced stats you cite, sits fairly high compared to other more established right tackles. The amount of great players at the premium position is the biggest concern for McKivitz, but his play has been very solid, and the 49ers aren’t paying a premium for his production.
