Welp. Another week has come and gone without a win for Syracuse Orange football. Rickie Collins and the Orange offense continued to sputter against Pittsburgh last Saturday in an inspired 30-13 loss.
While the results on the field have been highly disappointing, the same can be said for the progress of our Go Bowling Military Bowl O’Meter. Here’s where SU stands with five games to go:
We’re now at four straight Bowl O’Meter updates without movement towards a shot at postseason play. It doesn’t get
any easier this week either, as the Orange are a staggering 17.5-point underdogs at Georgia Tech on Saturday at noon.
Things are looking bleak, but let’s see if the “experts” around the country have any hope for Fran Brown’s crew after Week 8:
ESPN – Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura
Schlabach – No bowl
After last week’s projection of the Birmingham Bowl against Auburn, our first writer throws Syracuse to the wayside for Memphis/James Madison.
Bonagura – No bowl
Keeping with the bowl-less predictions, Bonagura hasn’t had much faith throughout the year.
No bowl
I sense a trend coming here…
No bowl
Three weeks ago, we were living lavishly in the Birmingham Bowl. Now, nothing but an empty void.
No bowl
Still no dice from SI, but I honestly can’t blame them at this point.
Fenway Bowl vs East Carolina
This projection was before the Pitt game as The Athletic is not doing weekly updates. We’ll see if the Orange can find enough wins to head East on I-90 for the holidays.
