Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl seems to be putting in a lot of work.
Within the last three days, the Bavarians seemed to have positioned themselves to sell off João Palhinha and Wisdom Mike, while also loaning out Bryan Zaragoza and Felipe Chávez. For Palhinha, a transfer to Benfica appears to be ‘imminent’:
João Palhinha completed his medical checks today ahead of joining Benfica, taking advantage of being allowed to stay in Lisbon by Bayern. He’s no longer expected to return to Munich.
The move is now imminent, and will be announced once the last minor procedures are complete [@Record_Portugal]
If Eberl is successful in finalizing these moves, he will have put together a very productive and efficient offseason.
Martinelli to Al Hilal? (ESPN)
Gabriel Martinelli is seeing his name in the transfer rumor mill once again:
Al Hilal are pursuing a deal to sign Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, The Athletic reports. No agreement has been reached, but negotiations are ongoing between the clubs over a permanent transfer. Arsenal want a fee in the region of £60 million, while Martinelli is open to a move to Saudi Arabia after previously turning down interest from Türkiye. Al Hilal are reportedly plotting a double Premier League swoop, with talks also underway to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
