Raphinha is back in Catalonia and set for further tests after leaving the Brazil camp having suffered what seems to be a minor hamstring injury in Tuesday’s friendly against Australia, but his boss at Barcelona will be very careful even if the captain isn’t seriously injured.
According to MARCA, Hansi Flick will take a cautious approach and only bring Raphinha back into the lineup once he feels full confidence in his captain’s fitness, and a rest in the next La Liga at home to Getafe is the most likely
outcome for Barça’s first game back from the international break.
The report says Flick blames himself for Raphinha’s absence through injury in important moments last season, including both legs of the Champions League quarterfinal exit to Atlético Madrid.
Flick does not want to repeat the same mistake this time around and will give his captain the proper time to recover, and he’s already weighing the options to replace Raphinha in the game against Getafe.
It doesn’t seem like it’s a serious injury this time, but Flick will be cautious nonetheless. And that’s good to see.
