The SEC men’s basketball tournament bracket has been finalized
, with things set to get going on Wednesday in Nashville. Tennessee just missed on a double-bye in the 16-team bracket, losing to Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon. Still, the Volunteers are among the top four in odds entering the week.A big reason for Tennessee dropping that final game to the Commodores was the injury to Nate Ament, which ended up holding him out of the final two games of the regular season. Rick Barnes noted that Ament is
expected back for the SEC Tournament, which will begin on Thursday for Tennessee. The Vols will face the winner of Mississippi State-Auburn.
Florida is the overwhelming favorite entering the tournament after a strong couple of months. The Gators had some things to figure out early on in the season, but they come into March looking pretty close to the team that won it all just one season ago.
Florida is -180 to win the SEC Tournament, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Tennessee checks in at fourth overall, sitting at +850. Both Arkansas and Alabama are +700.
Kentucky, which will play on Wednesday for the first time in school history, has +3500 odds to win every game through Sunday for a title.
The SEC Tournament will get going on Wednesday and run through Sunday on the ESPN family of networks. The SEC Network will carry the first two days of action. ESPN will finish things up on Saturday and Sunday.
Tennessee will begin in Game No. 6, playing 25 minutes after Game No. 5, which tips off at 12:30 p.m. ET.
