I meant to get this up a lot earlier in the week, but we’re doing it now instead.
For the third time in the season’s first four weeks, our Minnesota Vikings are being relegated to the late window of NFL coverage this week when they host the Miami Dolphins at U.S. Bank Stadium. In fact, they’re the only late game on the FOX family of networks this Sunday, which seems strange to me.
Equally strange is that CBS has the doubleheader this week for the second week in a row. I thought the networks alternated
weeks, but that’s not the case. There are also three late games on the CBS networks compared to, as I mentioned, just one on the FOX side. With that, here is your map for this week. The Dolphins/Vikings game is represented by the orange area on this map which, as always, is brought to you by the good folks at 506 Sports.
Now, as a reminder, because CBS has the doubleheader again, there will not be an early game on your local FOX affiliate if the Dolphins/Vikings game is being shown locally in your area. All of the other games on the FOX map above are in the early window.
- Red: Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles
- Blue: Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans
- Green: Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Yellow: New York Jets at Chicago Bears
If you’re outside the orange area, you’ll have to find the game on YouTube TV Sunday Ticket.
I’m also happy to pass along that, thanks to popular demand, starting on Sunday, we will be going back to having our Open Threads for windows that the Vikings aren’t playing in as regular posts rather than putting them over in the Feed as we had been earlier in the season. So, we’ll have that post up on Sunday morning at around 11:30 AM Central, with the Open Thread for our game dropping at the usual 30 minutes before kickoff, at 2:30 PM Central.
The Vikings will be back in the early window in Week 5, but some viewers might get hosed a little bit again for reasons that we’ll explain in next week’s post. I’ll effort to get that one up on Wednesday when 506 Sports puts their maps out.
