The Miami Dolphins lost to the Minnesota Vikings this past weekend, dropping to 0-4 on the year. It is a rough start to the season, but that was expected for a team that has turned over most of its roster this year. The Dolphins are in the early stages of a complete franchise rebuild, and they are experiencing the growing pains that come with it.
That does not make it any easier to watch, especially when the Dolphins start making unforced errors and rookie mistakes. But they are a part of the process,
and the team is fighting through them. Against the Vikings, the Dolphins looked better than they had in the previous three weeks, providing a small part of the silver lining around a dark cloud.
The Palm Beach Post’s Joe Schad took a look at the Dolphins’ loss and provided his overreactions for the game, including running back Ollie Gordon II becoming the team’s number one running back and the possibility of an 0-17 season for Miami:
Ollie Gordon II has surpassed Jaylen Wright
Overreaction? Yes. Ollie Gordon had a good game. Jaylen Wright did not. It’s one game…Dolphins headed for 0-17
Overreaction? Yes. As you saw on Sunday, Miami is capable of winning a game or two or three this season. It will happen at some point. It’s just a matter of when. This team lacks talent and experience. But it does not lack effort…
Schad also considered if defensive tackle Zach Sieler is a trade candidate, if cornerback Jason Marshall should be a starter, and if quarterback. Malik Willis has proven he is not the answer.
