The Golden State Warriors are hosting the Washington Wizards tonight, just 11 days after beating the Wizards in DC. If the Dubs were to win, it would be their first three-game winning streak since mid-January.
For the Warriors, they’ll have to do it without their biggest stars. But then again, they’re facing a Wizards team that will also be without their biggest stars.
Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Out — Steph Curry (right patellofemoral pain syndrome)
The Warriors offered an injury update on Curry
today, but it really wasn’t much of an update at all. He’ll be re-evaluated next week, and with just eight games on the schedule after this one, he’s running out of time for a return.
Out — Jimmy Butler III (right ACL surgery)
No updates on Butler, and for the next half a year or so, that will be a good thing.
Out — Moses Moody (left patellar tendon rupture)
Moody underwent season-ending surgery on his knee today, and likely won’t be back until the second half of next season.
Out — Al Horford (right soleus strain)
This will be Horford’s eighth straight absence. At this point, the question for him is less about if he’ll return soon, and more about whether he’ll run it back for a 20th NBA season next year.
Out — Quinten Post (right foot injury management)
The Dubs will once again be without two of their three centers.
Out — De’Anthony Melton (left knee injury management)
Melton has been a revelation with Curry sidelined. Unfortunately, the Warriors won’t have either of them today.
Out — Seth Curry (left adductor strain)
Or the other Curry, for that matter. He’s still played just four games this year.
Wizards
Out — Anthony Davis (left finger sprain)
Washington’s surprising trade for Davis at the deadline was always more about future years than about this season. And indeed, the 10-time All-Star has yet to make his Wizards debut.
Out — Trae Young (low back pain; right quad contusion)
Young, a four-time All-Star point guard, was Washington’s other high-profile deadline pickup. Like Davis, the Wizards traded for him for the future, not for this lost year. He’s only played in five games for his new squad.
Out — Kyshawn George (left elbow sprain)
George has had a very strong second season, averaging 14.8 points per game and shooting 38.1% from deep. But he’s been out for nearly a month now.
Out — Cam Whitmore (right shoulder deep vein thrombosis)
The Wizards took a flyer on Whitmore this year, and so far it hasn’t gone all that well. The ultra athletic wing has appeared in just 21 games, and is averaging a career-low 9.2 points per game in his third season.
Out — D’Angelo Russell (not with team)
The former Warrior joined the Wizards in the Davis trade, but hasn’t played for them. If he had interest from a playoff team, he likely would have been bought out.
Enjoy the game, Dub Nation.
