Robin Roefs: 7/10
Was a spectator for long periods, had a few good crosses to either punch or claim but did not have a same to make.
Thomas Meunier: 7/10
Played a lovely ball into Hume early on that should have resulted in a shot on goal. Was never overly troubled defensively, put a couple of wayward balls into the box and a peach of a ball right at the end that no-one read.
Nordi Mukiele: 9/10
Brilliant defensively, bullied anyone who he came up against and then had a hand in the goal with a great ball down the line.
Dan Ballard: 7/10
Won everything in the air and put some
meaty challenges in further up the pitch, still don’t think he looks physically right for some reason but still did well.
Reinildo: 8/10
Made a brilliant defensive recovery in the first half when Fulham were in on the break, then showed great feet later on in the half to win the ball and turn himself away from opposition players to start an attack.
Granit Xhaka (C): 8/10
Gave the back four plenty of cover throughout, then some of his diagonal balls and balls over the top were a joy to watch.
Noah Sadiki: 8/10
Had a volley from a corner in the first half, that deflected wide and then burst up the pitch to give Angulo an option on the overlap but his cross went just over everyone. Buzzed around the Fulham midfield, giving them a difficult time whenever they were on the ball.
Trai Hume: 6/10
Had a good chance early but had an air shot from a good Meunier ball. Didn’t really provide anything going forward today but helped us see out the game and get the clean sheet.
Enzo Le Fee: 7/10
Couldn’t really get around Brobbey enough in the first half, leaving the striker isolated but still had plenty of good moments. Put a chance on a plate for Isidor but his shot came back off the post.
Nilson Angulo: 5/10
Had some good moments when he drove up the left wing but then turned back to find a teammate rather than getting into the box. Worked hard out of possession too but not enough of a threat.
Brian Brobbey: 5/10
Had a difficult game up against a couple of big, strong centre halves. Gave them a good game but was extremely isolated.
Substitutes
Wilson Isidor: 8/10
Made the difference when he came on, with the visitors unable to handle his pace and movement. Did miss a sitter after he struck the post but then followed up quickly afterwards with a goal from Diarra’s cross.
Habib Diarra: 7/10
Came on to the right of Isidor and was very good, not only did he create the goal with a great run in behind and a pinpoint cross to Isidor but he was very aggressive in closing down the Fulham defence.
Chris Rigg: 6/10
Came on for Diarra after he picked up a knock, helped us get over the line.
Romaine Mundle: 6/10
Wasn’t on very long but had a great chance that Leno did well to stop.
Man of the Match: Nordi Mukiele
Back into the side after missing the opening game of the season and showed how important he is, giving the defence a massive boost with his drive and determination when he’s on the pitch. Set up the goal with a lovely ball down the line for Diarra, not long after saving a potential goal with a great recovery run and sliding block.
