Harry Kane is coming off of a sensational season at Bayern Munich where he racked up 61 goals and seven assists in 51 games across all competitions.
Kane was the integral figure in Bayern Munich’s attack and figures to be the focal point for England at the World Cup as well.
Former Ireland star Andy Townsend thinks that the Three Lions cannot get the job done without Kane.
“I don’t see England winning it without Harry Kane. I think Kane goes into the tournament as the best striker in the world, so to lose
that would be devastating for England,” Townsend told OLBG.
Kane played 4,050 minutes this season for the Bavarians and there is some thought that the Englishman could be running on fumes. To combat that, former Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has brought Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney to help give Kane a blow in games where it would be appropriate for the 32-year-old to exit a game to rest.
