The Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-3) will look to bounce back from a gut-wrenching loss to Indiana when they welcome the No. 8.-ranked UCLA Bruins (8-0) to Huntington Bank Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 7.
This Week’s Thoughts:
GopherNation: I feel strongly that this is a win for P.J. Fleck and the Gophers. UCLA’s only trip outside of their time zone was a trip to Maryland and I can safely say that Minnesota is much better than the Terps. I think Minnesota still sucks on offense, but they beat the Bruins.
Andy York: Going full
reverse jinx here. I do think the Gophers can win this game if they can continue to play amazing defense and special teams and get just ANYTHING out of the offense. But this UCLA defense is really good. And Wayne Knight is really good. We have done a good job against power running teams this season and will need to do so again. But its definitely going to be close.
Blake Ruane: See my opponent preview.
Ustreet: Rock fight again.
zipsofakron: UCLA at #5 (in the AP Top 25) is a travesty and I’m betting on Minnesota to be hot after a narrow miss in Bloomington. Hoping that Greg Harbaugh and Drake Lindsey took a long look in the mirror this week and will move away from running screens that regularly lose yards. Unlikely, I know, but a guy can hope!
mowe0018: While I believe UCLA to be slightly above trash, until P.J. changes his approach and in-game philosophy, the team will not be successful against talented teams.
wildcat00: I don’t have a good feeling about this one. I’m also still super upset about the last game, and I suspect the team is, too.
WhiteSpeedReceiver: This doesn’t feel like a game that’ll go well for UCLA. It’s just going to be a long, miserable day.
