We’re already seeing that Brad Underwood has confidence in his true freshmen this year with Brandon Lee and Keaton Wagler.
So it’s no shock that BU keeps hitting the high school ranks for prospects, even
in the era of the transfer portal.
In a social media post on Friday, four-star guard Lucas Morillo committed to Illinois. According to 247Sports, he’s the highest-ranked member of Illinois’ 2026 class (No. 32 nationally).
He currently plays in Boston and also competes on the Dominican Republican national team. According to 247, he was also considering Marquette, Virginia, Texas and UCLA, so definitely a bunch of high-majors.
Four-star guard Ethan Brown and three-star forward Landon Davis committed to Illinois earlier this year for the 2026 class.
We’ll see who sticks around when signing day comes around, but it’s a good sign that Brad can look to preps, the portal, and Europe for talent.
