Just before the 2026 NFL offseason, TE David Njoku said goodbye to the fans and city of the only team he has ever played with at the pro level. The Cleveland Browns have also seemed to move forward with TE Harold Fannin Jr. as the primary tight end, while adding a number of receivers and tight ends in the 2026 NFL draft.
Njoku had a unique bond with the Cleveland fanbase. This offseason, Njoku has been the victim of an elaborate identity fraud, has taken a visit with the Baltimore Ravens, but remains
on the NFL free agent market.
The former Browns tight end is now taking a visit with the Los Angeles Chargers:
In nine seasons in Cleveland, Njoku played in 118 games, with 88 starts. The former first-round pick has caught 384 passes for 4,062 yards and 34 touchdowns. The last two seasons, Njoku’s yards per catch dropped under 10 after four straight seasons above that mark.
