German national team manager Julian Nagelsmann and England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel have faced off many times on the pitch.
Tuchel also succeeded Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich after the latter was unceremoniously sacked in the middle of the the 2022/23 season.
Clearly, the two are a bit intertwined and that could potentially come into focus at this summer’s World Cup as both men attempt to lead their respective squads to glory.
As for which coach is better, agent Volker Struth knows who
he would pick (which makes sense since he is Nagelsmann’s agent). Here is a quick excerpt from an interview Struth had with Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Sport Bild: Will Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany go further than Thomas Tuchel’s England at the World Cup?
Volker Struth (Nagelsmann’s agent): “England have a significantly better team than in recent decades, but I’ll say confidently: We have the better coach.”
Maybe Struth is correct, but agents…they just can’t help themselves.
