The German national team is set to play the first of its two tune-up games for the World Cup when it squares off with Finland, who will not be playing in the tournament.
There are still positional battles in play, but more than anything right now, a bunch of players are looking to impress Julian Nagelsmann in hopes of being a part of the rotation for the World Cup.
Bayern Munich’s Lennart Karl and Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha are two players who could be working to impress the coaching staff in hopes
of securing a starting role, while Deniz Undav would love to prove to Nagelsmann he should start.
Players like Mainz 05’s Nadiem Amiri, Newcastle United’s Nick Woltemade, and Galatasaray’s Leroy Sané will also be looking to make big impressions if their respective numbers get called.
So, who will be the Meister of the Match (win or lose) for Germany? Will it be one of those players fighting for playing time or will it be an established starter just seeking to build on an already strong reputation?
