Barcelona have confirmed that goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic has signed for the club on a four-year contract.
The Croatia international arrives from Fenerbahce and will add to the club’s goalkeeping options.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“Agreement reached between FC Barcelona and Fenerbahçe SK for the transfer of Dominik Livaković. The Croatian keeper signs for four seasons up to 30 June 2030.”
It’s still not clear
what will happen with Livakovic and whether he will be back-up to Joan Garcia this season or head out on loan and return after Wojciech Szczęsny’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
The keeper was asked about his future after arriving in the city to sign for Barcelona earlier this week and said only: “We’ll see.”
Hansi Flick was also asked about the new arrival at his press conference ahead of the Athletic Club and wasn’t giving much away.
“We’ve discussed the situation. For me, it’s good to have experienced goalkeepers for the coming years,” he added.
“We’re happy with Szczęsny; we’ll see what happens in the transfer market. We’ve got time to make a decision.”
