Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians
Tuesday, September 8th, 6:35 ET
MASN/MASN+
The Orioles send Brandon Young to the mound as they search for their second straight win and a series win over the Guardians. Tanner Bibee goes for the Guardians. He is the Shane Baz of the Guardians, except his run-support woes are even worse. So far this year, the Guardians are giving him just 2.90 runs per game. That’s the lowest in baseball. (Baz is second-lowest at 3.02).
Naturally, this makes me think that tonight
will be the night the Guardians give him 10 runs of support. I don’t mean that as a diss to Brandon Young! That’s just the way things go this year.
The Orioles have a typical vs. righties lineup out tonight, except for one thing. Coby Mayo is batting cleanup against a righty! Our young man has come a long way. Unfortunately, Jackson Holliday at leadoff even though he’s been pretty bad lately. I’d rather see Blaze Alexander up there. I have reached the nothing matters portion of the season, though, so I’m not getting too worked up about it.
