The Cincinnati Bengals may have beaten the Miami Dolphins on Sunday to improve to 3-2 on the season. However, it was far from the best this team has or could have looked so far this year. Head coach Zac Taylor listed the grocery list of self inflicted wounds from Sunday to reporters as he talked about how the team needs to improve:
“There’s a lot of frustrating things on our end. We had two personal fouls. We fumbled twice in the red zone. We caught a kickoff on the four-yard line. We had a penalty
on a field goal that led to a touchdown. Gave them four points. Give up over 200 yards rushing. So, plenty, plenty to clean up. The bye hits us at a great time. I know these guys are worn out. We’ve had some down to the wire games last three weeks. I know how hot this one was today. So the bye week comes at a great time for us. To be 3-2, these guys will regroup. We know who we are today. There’s a lot of things we have to clean up to be better when we go to Baltimore in two weeks.”
This team definitely felt like they needed a bye week in the worst way. The past few weeks have been riddled with these issues, and special teams especially has been atrocious. When you’d be better off if your punt return or field goal blocking unit had just stood around and done nothing, it is a major issue. Yet, that is where the unit is currently at.

Postgame Quick Hits | Jordan Battle, Ja’Marr Chase Make Marquee Plays In Miami
Battle had a genuinely better day tackling than last week where he had two terrible whiffs that led to first downs. His interceptions also may have saved this game from being tight enough that Cincinnati could have lost. We still have to look at the defensive unit as a whole regarding outside runs. Allowing a team like Miami to run for over 200 yards is unacceptable. Coaches and players really need this week to see what needs to change, otherwise forget any type of a deep post season run if they manage to get there.
Bad beat in South Beach: Dolphins’ last-minute touchdown sets up painful bad beat
It is truly insane sometimes to look back at the lines that Vegas has made for these games and how close they end up being. An extra point off an upright likely shifted millions of dollars around when it barely had an actual impact on the outcome of the game.
Bengals stars shine in win over Dolphins
Cincinnati needed every bit of Burrow’s magic today with four touchdowns. The 50-50 ball to Ja’Marr Chase will make most highlight reels, but the other three were either perfectly placed or timed balls that show why Burrow is considered on of the best in the NFL.

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels says team’s botched final play vs. Giants ‘on me’
In one of the more peculiar finishes you will ever see to an NFL game, the Washington Commanders seemed to forget either the game would end in a tie at the end of the overtime period or that they didn’t have a timeout. They were inside the New York Giant’s 30-yard line with 57 seconds. After they ran the ball, they huddled up, walked to the line of scrimmage with no sense of urgency, snapped the ball without enough time to be able to get a spike off if needed and Daniels just ran into defenders. Even after he was tackled with under 10 seconds left, no one really moved with any urgency until time was nearly out. Just baffling that no one seemed to know the situation on the offense.
NFL Network: Cardinals to trade WR Marvin Harrison Jr. to Texans
Well the mystery is over after head coach DeMeco Ryan revealed at his press conference after the team’s first win of the season on Sunday they traded for Harrison. This reunites CJ Stroud with Harrison who both played at Ohio State University through the 21-22 season. A second round pick next year is also a big price to pay. A fairly big gamble considering both player’s struggles as of recent and Stroud being in a contract year.
‘It’s Even More Disrespectful’ — Ex-NFL LB Reacts to Mike Evans Addressing Viral Exchange With Trevon Diggs During 49ers-Seahawks
Evans truly pulled off the coldest trash talk moves of All-Time Sunday when he had to turn Diggs around to read the name on the back of his jersey to tell who he was. It is certainly something we will see repeated going forward, but there is truly no rebuttal for that.
