Barcelona midfielder Pedri put on a masterclass on Tuesday night against Galatasaray but admitted after the game that he hadn’t actually been feeling 100 per cent.
Pedri asked to be taken off in the second half but said it was because he was feeling unwell and not due to any injury.
“Well, nothing major, my stomach hurt and I felt a bit unwell so it was better to ask for change so that someone fresh could come in,” he told Movistar.
The Barca star then shared his thoughts on the match itself which saw
Barca come from a goal down to win 4-1.
“In the first half we rushed when they took the lead. The atmosphere was complicated, but I’m left with the reaction of the team, who came out spectacularly in the second half and we competed very well,” he added.
“At half-time we talked about not rushing, giving them a few turns to unsettle them and when Lamine, Fermín or Dani Olmo have the ball near the box they create a lot of chances.
And Pedri also looked ahead to some big games for Barcelona. The Catalans now play Real Betis, PSG and Real Madrid and Pedri can’t wait.
“Very important matches are coming up. It’s the start of the season, but they’re important,” he added.
“Let’s enjoy them and, above all, win.”
