Stuttgart hosted Celtic from Scotland in the Europa League playoff round. Nübel and team had a 4-1 aggregate lead going into the return match. Celtic started things off in the first minute with a goal that slotted past Nübel in a dream start to the second leg. They did not put another shot on target until the 90th minute, but Nübel was up to the task this time. The attack took the name off and could not score a goal. Fortunately, the one Celtic goal was not enough for them to knock off Stuttgart. Stuttgart will face Porto in the Round of 16.
Stuttgart was also at home in Bundesliga play on Sunday against Wolfsburg. Nübel was in goal again and did not see a shot on goal through the first half — leading to a 3-0 halftime lead.
