Kevin Willard and the Wildcats have added multiple pieces in the transfer portal this offseason torebuild the team.
While this is a new era of college hoops where the transfer portal and NIL have become king, it remains important to recruit out of high school.
Four-star Adam Oumiddoch flipped from St. John’s to Villanova, giving the Wildcats a big fish in the Class of 2026. Willard remains in on many other big names in the upcoming years.
2027
The dominoes in the Class of 2027 have not started falling at
a high rate just yet. Villanova has offers out to some of the top players in the class — especially in the backcourt.
Five-star point guard Beckham Black is one of the most sought-after players in 2027. He has been linked at the center of a recruiting battle between Duke and North Carolina. Cayden Daughtry is another big name that has been offered as a four star with names like USC, Michigan, and Iowa mentioned at the forefront.
One name to watch is four-star point guard J’Lon Lyons out of Grace Brethren Christian School in Maryland. In September, Lyons mentioned programs like Purdue, Indiana, and Syracuse that have been in heavy contact, along with the hometown Terps. VCU is another school that has heated up for Lyons. Villanova could sneak in and make it interesting for Lyons.
Jaydn Jenkins is another interesting prospect for Villanova given his home town. He currently attends Archbishop Wood in Warminster, PA, which is the alma mater of Wildcat great Collin Gillespie. The 6-foot-10 Jenkins would continue the goal of getting bigger in the frontcourt.

2028
The Class of 2028 might be sophomores but that does not mean that the interest is circling. Willard has kept it relatively local to this point and that includes five-star shooting guard Colton Hiller.
The 6-foot-6 guard has become known as a true scorer from all three levels early in his high school career. He is one of the top players in the nation already. Hiller is already being courted by programs such as Duke, Kentucky, and Florida, but he has mentioned Villanova as one of the teams that has reached out the most.
The Wildcats were also in early on Isaiah Hamilton, who has transferred to Montverde, which could lead to even more attention over the next two years.
