Barcelona have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana as an alternative to Alessandro Bastoni this summer.
A new report from Sacha Tavolieri at Sky Sport states that the Blues have offered Barcelona the chance to land the defender and his name “has been added to an extended internal list.”
Bastoni remains top of the club’s list of targets ahead of the summer transfer window, but it’s still not known if he will move to Barcelona from Serie A champions Inter.
Tavolieri
says that Barcelona are “also considering the possibility of a right-back leaving” – another reason why Fofana’s name has cropped up.
Talks between Barcelona and the players’ representatives are said to have taken place already. Chelsea are hoping for a fee of around €30 million, while Barcelona would prefer a loan with a buy option.
