The practice squad in Foxborough would be subject to arrivals on both sides of the ball.
The New England Patriots signed tight end Thomas Odukoya and defensive tackle Leonard Taylor amid a series of moves
on Thursday, as NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported.
Odukoya, 28, is a familiar face to head coach Mike Vrabel’s coaching staff. The Netherlands native signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He did so through the NFL’s International Player Pathway after beginning his United States football journey at West Hills-Coalinga, Garden City Community College and ultimately Eastern Michigan, where he became a team captain.
After spending the entirety of his first two NFL campaigns on the practice squad, Odukoya made the initial 53-man roster out of training camp in 2024. The 6-foot-6, 253-pound tight end appeared in two games from there, totaling 27 snaps on special teams through a series of transactions. The Titans waived Odukoya shortly after his promotion this October.
Taylor, 23, entered the league with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2024. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound defensive tackle out of the University of Miami outlasted the 53-man roster deadline as a rookie. He has played in 16 games since then.
Recently clearing waivers, Taylor stands with 308 snaps on defense and 14 snaps on special teams. His first AFC East stop included 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pair of passes defensed.
To make room on the practice squad at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots announced the release of tight end Marshall Lang and defensive tackle David Olajiga.
Lang, 23, had been in for a workout during in September and signed earlier in the week. The 6-foot-4, 252-pound Northwestern product originally joined the Seattle Seahawks as a rookie free agent following the 2025 NFL draft. He was waived at the league’s 53-man roster deadline in August. Lang’s Big Ten career brought 52 games, including 21 starts, along with 48 receptions for 491 yards and four touchdowns.
Olajiga, 27, landed in Foxborough through the NFL International Player Pathway ahead of training camp in July. A roster exemption followed for the 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive lineman and London native after being waived in August. He was retained as the 17th member of the practice squad. Undrafted in 2024 out of Butler Community College and Central Missouri, Olajiga spent his rookie year on the scout team of the Los Angeles Rams.
