Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are the stories you need to know about after the yesterday’s joint practice with the Miami Dolphins.
Giants’ Abdul Carter says, ‘I want to be the greatest of all time.’ And why not? | The Athletic
“When (John) Harbaugh first got here, everybody had to go in front of the room and speak, and I told everybody that I want to be the greatest of all time,” Carter told The Athletic. “And I can’t just say that. I’ve got to come out here and work and prove it during games this season. I’ve got to be that player.”
It’s early in Year 2, very early, but the 6-foot-3,
252-pound linebacker was described by one team source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly about Carter, as “a man on a mission.” Carter had already put his short-term mission on the record earlier in camp when he said, “I want to be Defensive Player of the Year.”

Malachi Fields tried to focus his eyes and calm his mind.
He looked around at his fellow Giants rookies, all of them preparing to endure the team’s pre-training camp conditioning test. Fighting blurry vision and total-body exhaustion, Fields reminded himself he just needed to get through this. “I had tunnel vision,” he said.
John Harbaugh Attempting To Make the Giants‘Special’ Again | SI.com
The new head coach spent decades coaching special teams before becoming a head coach, and he’s already reshaping the Giants’ punter, kicker, and long snapper competitions to match.
Harbaugh knew what he needed for the Giants to gain that edge. He had the front office bring in All-Pro punter/holder Jordan Stout (Ravens) and is giving a long look to undrafted rookie long snapper Ben Mann (Boston College), undrafted kicker Dominic Zvada (Michigan), and holdover kicker Ben Sauls. Harbaugh also has been trying a wide variety of players on kickoff/punt returns and as gunners throughout the offseason and into the preseason.
Biggest concern for every NFL team entering the 2026 season | PFF
New York Giants: Ten new starters. Including Patrick Ricard at fullback, the Giants are projected to have 10 new starters between offense and defense. Given how well they have drafted in recent years, combined with the arrival of Super Bowl-winning head coach John Harbaugh, there is reason to believe the franchise is headed in the right direction.
At the same time, the sheer scale of the roster turnover illustrates just how much work was needed. It would not be surprising if the rebuild still requires another season before the Giants are ready to make a serious push for the postseason.
Trade Probability Meter for NFL Players Who Could Be Moved Before 2026 Roster Cuts Deadline | Bleacher Report
Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, New York Giants. Back in April, The Athletic’s Ian O’Connor reported that the New York Giants wanted a second-round pick for Kayvon Thibodeaux. Since then, a few teams that may have been interested in Thibodeaux have filled their pass-rushing needs. New Orleans has re-signed Cameron Jordan. The Atlanta Falcons signed Za’Darius Smith. The Chicago Bears added Marcus Davenport.
Even with the added pass-rushing talent on the roster, Thibodeaux will likely remain in New York past the roster cuts deadline. The Giants’ reported asking price is way too high for a player whose production has declined over the past two seasons. Trade probability meter: 3

Giants (vs. Cowboys). John Harbaugh will likely pick up some big wins this year during his first season on the job in New York, but it doesn’t feel like this will be one of them. The Cowboys are returning every starter on their offense and that should put them in a spot to steal this one in a shootout.
