This week’s question asked about trading Mitch Keller. It’s no secret that the Pirates need hitting. They had the worst offense in the league last season. It’s also no secret that the Bucs’ strength is starting pitching.
Mitch Keller is slated to make $16.9 million this upcoming season, and he’s coming off of a year in which he finished with a 4.19 ERA, 1.259 WHIP and 150 strikeouts. He also had a 6-15 record due to Pittsburgh’s anemic plate production, but the 29-year-old should still have some solid value on the trade market. Nonetheless, Ben Cherington pretty much stinks at trading, so who knows what kind of return he could drum up.
But we asked if the Bucs should trade Keller this offseason for some hitting. Here’s the results:
So there you have it. Almost three-fourths of Pirates fans think the Pirates should trade Keller this offseason. That’s a pretty solid number.
