What in the world is going on, Rumblers? The Buffalo Bills are 3-0 and face a winless 0-3 this afternoon, yet based on your feedback via the latest Reacts poll you might think this team is in a similar place to the Kansas City Chiefs. I’ve accepted that running this weekly means we’re likely to see data that seeks to solve an issue later on in the season, but it’s still surprising to see these results when Josh Allen is playing quarterback for the team you support.
Allen asked fans to have faith in
the team, rather than step off the wagon. Just 61% of voters are confident in the direction of the Bills right now. That’s down from 76% last week, which was the high point of this young season. My question for the 39% of folks who aren’t confident is where they’ll be should Buffalo lose a game, and how many among that 61% will join them?
Sure, there are far bigger goals than winning games in the regular season, but the Bills are playing winning football right now and that helps toward their postseason plans. The more they win, the better their playoff positioning. If not now, when will doubters be convinced?
Does a 9-8 Bills team that scrapes its way into a wild card spot, going on to win on Super Wild Card Weekend just to be bounced in the divisional round sound better than a 13-4 (or better) squad that loses that same divisional round weekend?
Or are we only going to see a majority of fans content if and when Buffalo wins an AFC Championship en route the Super Bowl? It’s certain that none of the doubt is directly about Allen, but instead the defense and likely the head coach who’s supposed to have that side of the ball on lockdown.
