On its home soil, Canada got off to a rough start at the World Cup, as it could only eek out a 1-1 draw vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Desperate times might be calling for desperate measures as the Canadians could roll out Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies to play against Qatar at 3:00PM EDT in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Canadian journalist Ben Steiner captured Canada head coach Jesse Marsch offered up this response when asked about this up on the status of Davies: “Alphonso is looking really good,
so it’s just a matter of, ‘okay, what kind of game is it? What kind of moment is it? And how do we feel he can contribute?’”
Is this Marsch giving a spoiler on what lies ahead or throwing Qatar a red herring to affect its planning? It is tough to say, but it would be hard to believe that Davies will kept out of this World Cup much longer.
