- Cal Raleigh’s an ambitious guy, telling the Seattle Times that he doesn’t just want to win one World Series, he wants to claim “multiple” titles.
- Mike Petriello polled executives from around the league on who should win AL MVP — Aaron Judge or Cal Raleigh.

- The new Dodgers California League affiliate, which is replacing the Modesto Nuts, will be called the Ontario Tower Buzzers (yes, it’s a Top Gun reference).
- Royals reliever Lucas Erceg will miss the rest of the season due to shoulder impingement.
- Giants President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey confirmed that the team would be interested in bringing back righty Justin Verlander.
- Olivia Parker wonders what’s gone wrong with Framber Valdez lately, and theorizes that his public spat with catcher Cesar Salazar could be related to his decline.
