I watched yesterday’s game where the Miami Dolphins fell to the KC Chiefs 10-10 and the NFL referees 14-0. The combined score was KC/NFL Refs 24 – Miami/out of favors 10. I can’t even talk about the Dolphins performance until I unpack the completed slanted officiating.
Unless the “anointed team” completely no shows, the refs in every sport will put their hoofs on the scales of justice to benefit whatever team is anointed. I remember the Heat beating the Chicago Bulls in Jordan’s heyday at the old
Miami Arena. I was in attendance. Steffi Graf, Jack Nickalus, Cal Ripken, Jr. and I think Ferdie Pacheco were also there to watch the GOAT. However, Rex Champman hit like 7 or 8 3-pointers and the Heat beat down the Bulls. If the game would’ve been closer, the refs would have carried the Bulls over the finish line as they usually did for MJ.
We saw this in full effect today. The NFL officiating is the biggest embarrassment in the history of the American experience. There is no attempt to improve it. It really makes you think that the NFL decides who will win each game before the season begins in some type of Star Chamber (check out this Michael Douglas movie if you can). In the olden days in England, powerful folks would meet outside at night under the stars to decide the guilt or innocence of some individual and then they would carry out the sentence(hence the term Star Chamber). It makes you think the powers that be have money on the game. I could literally write a hundred pages on how many garbage calls have went against the Dolphins over the last 40 years. I know other teams get screwed too but our pendulum is stuck to the bad. Many of these calls are simply inexplicable. And if you complain, the NFL punishes you. I still do not understand how the NFL gets aways with this, KNOWING they have an anti-trust exemption from the U.S. government. In what other American endeavor outside of sports can a member of that organization NOT criticize a corporation publicly? If I worked at Acme and criticized them, yes they would fire me and rightfully so and I can go public if I have evidence of their wrong doing However, again Acme does not have an anti-trust exemption or at least that is what the Coyote told me 😊. There is NOTHING less American than the NFL stifling free speech.
The NFL practices in gross negligence and then has the buffoonish broadcasters and their “so called officiating expert” Gene Steratore come out and bless every single call. For those of you who don’t know, Steratore was the absolute buffoon moron who screwed the Dolphins against the Steelers in Miami (2010, I think) where the Steelers fumbled the ball in the end zone, THE FINS RECOVERED THE DAMN BALL, and this complete moron said there wasn’t a clear recovery and gave the ball back to the Steelers. It turns out this guy grew up in Pittsburgh and was allowed to ref an NFL with the Steelers. How in the name of God can this happen? So, this is the buffoon who was asked about the sissy roughing the passer call against Chop Robinson? This was a total garbage call because what was Chop supposed to do, sack Mahomes and use his “Homelander” super powers to fly away at the last nano-second? Momentum and gravity made Chop land on Mahomes, not intent. But Mahomes is the anointed one by the NFL, just like Brady was. It you launch an “air biscuit” against Brady or Mahomes it is an automatic 15-yard penalty. They cannot be touched. Period. So Steratore weighed in on that one but where was Steratore when Malik’s helmet was pulled off? Nowhere to be found. Where was Steratore when the player pulled Achane’s facemask on the play where he was hurt? Nowhere to be found. The NFL officiating cannot be criticized and it NEVER makes a mistake. In the legal world, attorneys must avoid EVEN the appearance of impropriety. Not the NFL.
In my many travels to London, I noticed many stores (usually the elite ones like Harrod’s) have these shields up on the top corner of the store entrances. I asked what those were and I was told there was an official process to apply for the shield. These shields let the general public know that this business is preferred by the royal family; I just read that they had to be updated for the transition to King Charles. So I want to figure out how the Dolphins can earn the NFL preferred shield? Do we need to run ads with Malik’s and Devon’s shirts off? Maybe Jacob Rodriguez can appear on the cover of Men’s Fitness magazine with his shirt off? I am wide open to suggestions. Maybe I will reach out to King Charles?
