Noah Fifita showed his fondness for spreading the ball around this past season, completing at least 20 passes to six different receivers. Three of those targets have graduated, leaving opportunities for newcomers
to step in and contribute.
Arizona has found another potential target for Fifita in ex-West Virginia wide receiver Rodney Gallagher III, who committed on Saturday.
The 5-foot-10, 181-pound Gallagher will have one season of eligibility remaining after spending the previous three seasons at West Virginia. He has started 22 games, including in 2024 when the Moutaineers came to Tucson and he had 35 all-purpose yards in a 31-26 win.
Gallagher has 64 catches for 605 yards and three touchdowns in his career, adding 221 rushing yards. Last season he had 28 receptions and ran the ball 14 times.
He is Arizona’s second wide receiver addition from the portal, joining ex-USC wideout DJ Jordan, along with three tight end transfers. Overall the UA has added six transfers on offense.
Arizona has actually picked up two players this week who were previously tied to West Virginia. On Friday it earned a commitment from Australian punter Chase Ridley, who had signed with the Mountaineers last month but was let out of his NLI after WVU added a punter from the portal.
