LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers announced their pregame plans for the National League Championship Series games at Dodger Stadium, beginning with Rick Monday throwing out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Game 3 against the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night.
Keith Williams Jr. will sing the national anthem ahead of Game 3 on Wednesday, just as he did before Game 1 of this year’s National League Division Series on October 3. This will be the 15th postseason game singing the anthem at Dodger Stadium
dating back to 2016.
Prior to Game 4 of the NLCS, Orel Hershiser and Mike Scioscia will comprise the ceremonial first pitch. In another NLCS Game 4, in 1988, Scioscia hit a two-run home run off Dwight Gooden to tie the New York Mets in the ninth inning, and Hershiser snuck down to the bullpen one day after his start, and he got the final out of the 12th inning to earn a save past midnight in New York.
If the NLCS makes it to Friday, Shawn Green will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 5.
The planned national anthems for the rest of the week are Kaleena Zanders before Game 4 and Joshua Guerrero in Game 5.
Timing
With expected traffic, Dodger Stadium will open a half-hour earlier than usual for the NLCS. For Game 3 on Wednesday, the parking lot opens at 2 p.m. and the stadium gates open at 2:30 p.m. ahead of the 5 p.m. game time. With 6 p.m. starts slated for Games 4 and 5, the parking lot will open at 3 p.m. and the stadium gates at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday or Friday.
