In Game 1, the Colorado Rockies managed a glorious walk-off win in their first game of a four-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Tonight, they will look to win Game 2. The Rockies have not beaten the Dodgers in two consecutive games in a single season since winning three in a row at Dodger Stadium Oct. 2-4, 2022; they have not won two in a row against the Dodgers at Coors Field since June 27-28, 2022.
Also worth noting, the Rockies have won four straight for the second time this season (also:
June 15-18), but they have not won five consecutive games since a seven-game winning streak May 9-15, 2024.
Starting for the Dodgers is Emmet Sheehan. This will be his ninth appearance for the Dodgers in 2025.
The righty has a 3.86 ERA in 35.0 IP. He’s struck out 37, walked s13, and given up three home runs. Sheehan has a 1.23 WHIP.
Sheehan made two starts again the Rox in 2023 and won both, while posting a 4.09 ERA (5 ER/11.0 IP) and striking out 15 without issuing a walk. This will be his second start at Coors Field.
Taking the mound for the Rockies will be LHP Austin Gomber.
Currently, he has an ERA of 6.75 in 54.2 IP. He’s struck out 38 while giving up 15 walks and 14 home runs with a 1.38 WHIP.
Gomber will be looking for his first win since September 5, 2024, in Atlanta. Is the only pitcher in the Majors this season to have 11 or more starts and no quality outings.
