Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed the club are in contract talks with Eric Garcia and want him to continue with the Catalans.
After looking certain to leave earlier this year, Eric has become a key player under Hansi Flick and now appears set to stay instead.
Garcia’s current deal expires in summer 2026 but talks are underway and both parties appear to be on the same page.
“We’ve already started talking to him. The idea is for him to stay if he understands the club’s vision and the salary
plan. The interest is shared,” he told Tot Costa.
“He left here amid criticism, came back, and has turned things around in terms of playing and the dressing room. He’s young, 24 years old. We’re happy with him and want him to stay.”
Garcia has featured in all of Barcelona’s La Liga and Champions League matches so far this season, making seven starts from 10 appearances in total.
