The Blazer’s Edge Best Things Ever Tournament marches onward today, quite literally in the case of this poll! For those just catching up, this is a 64-item bracket of various cool things, shuffled together randomly and matched up against each other until only one remains as the Best Thing Ever for 2026. All you have to do is visit each poll and vote for the thing you think is best! The rest will take care of itself.

by post. And this one involves two heavyweights: Santa vs. March Madness
Christmas needs no introduction. From religious roots, it’s grown into an international holiday of gift-giving, decoration, storytelling, and fun. At the heart of the cultural version of Christmas is Santa Claus, the jolly old elf who flies reindeer from the north pole, crawls down chimneys, and leaves presents for all the good little kids (and a few adults besides).
If you’re a basketball fan, though, few times of year rival the March Madness NCAA Tournament, upon which this very Best Things Ever event was patterned. 68 (or so) teams, one trophy, one ultimate winner. Besides “March Madness”, the tournament has spawned common lexicon terms like “Final Four” and “Sweet Sixteen” and given rise to more college heroes and underdog stories than we can count.
