After six practices and two games gone, Christian Gonzalez made his way back.
The New England Patriots All-Pro returned as a limited participant for Wednesday’s work on the New York Jets. A shoulder injury sustained in September had kept No. 0 out for October matchups against the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders.
“I’ve been itching, kind of going a little crazy when I’m not getting to play,” Gonzalez told reporters. “It’s hard. You put in work with all these guys and then you don’t get to be out
there with them.”
Fellow cornerbacks Carlton Davis III and Karon Prunty stayed sidelined as AFC East prep got underway. But the 21-day practice windows opened for wide receiver A.J. Brown and offensive tackle Marcus Bryant to be activated from injured reserve.
Here’s the first injury report ahead of Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
Patriots
- CB Carlton Davis III (neck)
- CB Karon Prunty (hamstring)
Jets
- RB Breece Hall (quad)
- WR Adonai Mitchell (finger)
- G Dylan Parham (knee)
- DE Joseph Ossai (ankle)
The Patriots ruled out four cornerbacks last week on the way to a 45-17 win in Foxborough. Two of whom remained non-participants on Wednesday. The veteran starter in Davis continues to work through a neck injury, while the rookie fifth-round pick in Prunty continues to work through a hamstring injury.
Their recent absences had a hand in the well-traveled Kindle Vildor earning a promotion from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. And ultimately, a game ball from head coach Mike Vrabel.

A total of 13 Patriots practiced in a partial capacity on Wednesday. Gonzalez was among four corners in that tier. But after being downgraded from questionable to out last weekend, the initial pair of selections in the franchise’s 2025 draft class were notably present.
At running back, Henderson sustained a high ankle sprain prior to halftime versus the Raiders that left Corey Kiner on the active depth chart behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson. Last year’s No. 38 overall pick out of Ohio State wasn’t the only one to exit in the second quarter. At left tackle, Campbell avoided a major injury to his right knee. The former No. 4 overall pick out of LSU is reportedly week-to-week after rookie Caleb Lomu stepped in on the blindside for the offensive line.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- QB Drake Maye (right shoulder)
Jets
- LB Kiko Mauigoa (quad)
It marks the third consecutive week that Maye has been listed as a full participant for the Patriots despite an injury to his throwing shoulder. The 24-year-old quarterback turned the calendar to October with AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors and nearly repeated.
His last pair of starts spanned 643 passing yards, 79 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, two turnovers and two wins. A 150.9 passer rating arrived versus Las Vegas while completing a season-best 76.5 percent of his attempts.
