Good morning, BBN!
Former Kentucky Basketball big man Brandon Garrison is preparing for his first season at Alabama, but he still looks back fondly on his two years in Lexington.
Speaking at SEC Media Days, Garrison thanked the program, its fans, and the coaches who helped him develop on and off the court.
“(That experience) meant a lot, you know? With the fans, all the coaches who supported me, just everything,” Garrison told KSR. “Kentucky is obviously the Mecca of basketball.”
Despite inconsistent
performances during his Kentucky career, Garrison credited Mark Pope with helping him grow as a player. He also noted differences between Pope and Alabama coach Nate Oats, describing Pope as more focused on Xs and Os and Oats as more analytics-driven.
Garrison will return to Rupp Arena on February 6 when Alabama faces Kentucky, a matchup he is eagerly anticipating.
“It’s going to be an exciting time, and it will be a special moment for me,” Garrison said.
Although his career continues elsewhere, I’m still cheering for BG’s success, just not on February 6th!
