With the Miami Dolphins’ pass rusher Chop Robinson not practicing, it seems like it’ll be down to Zach Sieler to do anything against the 49ers offensive line. After their showing against the Rams, my expectations are now a lot higher. Sunday will be a great game to dial in some things, build some of that cohesion, before facing more talented defensive lines when they host Denver in a couple weeks and then go to Seattle. The big boys better maul at home.

I’m not changing the grading system, but you’ll see Trent Williams was once point below Jake Brendel. Not taking anything away from Jake Brendel, but Myles Garrett — even a hobbled, one-legged Myles Garrett — is a different 1-on-1 challenge. For this week, that’s a Myles Garrett stat. I could decide to add a multiplier for facing elite opponents in isolation scenarios, but for now, I’m just going to provide the context.”

KhaDarel Hodge taking advantage of 49ers opportunity to keep NFL career alive
“Every year, it’s a grind from the bottom for me,” Hodge told NBC Sports Bay Area. “I keep the same mindset every year, and that’s just getting out of the mud, anyway I can.
“I know it’s going to be uphill for me every year. I came in late, so I knew I had to do a little extra and try to contribute any way I can on offense or special teams. I expect the best of myself because of the work I put on.”
…“Enough is never enough,” he said. “It’s just the mindset of knowing, like, I got to do what I got to do for my family. To be honest, every time I go out there, I try to remind myself of who I am doing it for: My family, the name on my back and, basically, where I grew up.”
Hodge grew up in D’Lo, Mississippi, a town of approximately 350 residents located 30 miles south of the state capital of Jackson. The community was known for sending 38 percent of its residents to serve in World War II — more men per capita than any town of its size.
He grew up with his single mom, Michelle Hodge, four siblings, grandparents, cousins and others. Hodge said there were as many as 13 individuals in and out of the small house at any time.”
Kaelon Black was added to the 49ers’ injury report
“It’s probably a good sign that we haven’t heard any reports yet about Black’s injury being anything serious. During a KNBR interview, Kyle Shanahan said, “I think we’re just being smart with him. He was a little tight today, so we didn’t push him too hard.”
