don’t lie, and I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.
AJ Styles makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He greets the crowd and says there’s a man in the back who would claim this is the last time he’ll do it, and GUNTHER claims he’s gonna end AJ’s WWE career at the Royal Rumble. That’s his plan, but Styles says he’s not going anywhere. He’s made it clear, he hasn’t hidden it, 2026 is the year AJ Styles retires.
John Cena showed that you can take a year to say goodbye, 2025 was the year of John Cena, and there’s no reason 2026 can be his year. There’s men in locker rooms around the world he’d love to wrestle one more time, and he wants to be world champion one more time. His back is against the wall, but GUNTHER isn’t phenomenal.
Enter CM Punk.
He says they’ve been friends and they’ve been enemies but here in 2026 there’s nothing but respect between them, and he has to ask now… what’re you doing? Putting his career on the line against GUNTHER when guys like them still have gas in the tank and moments to make? He makes his case and says if AJ loses that means they never get to have a match in a WWE ring.
