The Seattle Seahawks have to get themselves off the canvas after being floored by the San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field on Sunday. They won’t have it easy against a Denver Broncos team that enjoys a great home field advantage and has a defensive line that can punish Seattle’s struggling offensive line. Denver will be hurting in the secondary, with Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga both out due to injury, so if there’s ever an opportunity for Sam Darnold to get out of his funk, it’s against a banged
up secondary and a defense with questionable linebackers in coverage.
Seattle’s defense has played very well, albeit not quite to the standard set last year when it was the best in the NFL. The Seahawks have been great at preventing teams from getting into the red zone (outside of turnovers that set up instant RZ possessions), but red zone drives are consistently ending in touchdowns. Can the Seahawks defense fluster Bo Nix just as much as they did in his first ever game? Can the run defense shut down a tepid Broncos rushing attack?
Both teams are 3-2 and there’s a feel of must-win on both sides. Join us in our Thursday night game chat! I am astonished we had over 7,500 comments for the 49ers game, many of which I know were through the new SB Nation App (available in the USA and Canada). We’re a vibrant and active community as is, but the app has done wonders for taking it to the next level. See a little test of how a game chat looks with live mode on!
