It was just announced that Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter, whom the Browns basically traded to Jacksonville, is being placed on IR due to a knee injury that he suffered in practice yesterday. He’ll be out
at least four games, with the potential to miss even more depending on the severity and recovery process.
When Cleveland initially made the trade on draft day, it was met with a tidal wave of emotion, both good and bad. Some thought that Hunter was a “generational” player who could be a game-changer for the organization from the moment that he stepped on the field. Others weren’t that impressed and felt that he was a player who was pretty good at two different positions, but not great at one.
Regardless of all that, as of right now, it’s pretty clear that Cleveland made the right choice. In addition to another 1st round pick in 2026, they were able to add DT Mason Graham after moving back in 2025, and he’s been dominant at times as a rookie.
Hunter being out for Jacksonville could also end up hurting Liam Coen’s offense pretty bad as well, potentially increasing the overall value of the pick that the Browns received if the Jaguars end up losing a few games while he’s sidelined.
