The only thing Cleveland Browns fans care more about than former Cleveland Browns players is current Cleveland Browns players. The passion and dedication of Browns fans (and our loyal DBN community) lead to a similar focus on the backup tight ends and training camp heroes like Luke Floriea as it does on starters. That passion makes everything better in the community, and generally includes keeping an eye on former Cleveland players to see how they are doing and what they are up to.
Obviously, the
Baker Battles will rage on forever, but there were a few NFL free-agent departures this offseason that saw big names from the Browns past heading off to other rosters. With games kicking off Wednesday night, a look at the first unofficial depth charts around the NFL and where Cleveland’s offseason losses find themselves, with a few surprises.
First, a list of those who remain on the free-agent market per Over the Cap, which includes practice squad players. OL Joel Bitonio retired, but he could technically return, so he makes this list:

- Cam Robinson
- Jack Conklin
- Cornelius Lucas
- Jerome Ford (After signing with Washington as a free agent, he was released)
- Mohamoud Diabate (After signing with Tennessee as a free agent, he was waived last week)
- DeAndre Carter
- Jerome Baker
- Cedric Tillman
- Trayveon Williams
- Tre Avery
- Sam Webb
Second, using teams’ unofficial depth charts, a look at where departed Browns free agents stand heading into Week 1:
- Devin Bush – Starting Chicago Bears linebacker
- David Njoku – Either backup OR starting Los Angeles Chargers tight end (gotta love creative depth charts)
- Wyatt Teller – Backup Houston Texans left guard
- Cam Thomas – Starting Atlanta Falcons defensive end, in front of Za’Darius Smith
- Ethan Pocic – Backup Baltimore Ravens center
- Martin Emerson – Backup New Orleans Saints corner (or starter potentially in three CB sets)
- Shelby Harris – Starting New York Giants defensive tackle
- Rayshawn Jenkins – Starting Pittsburgh Steelers safety
