Since our late-March recruitment update article was published on March 20th, four recruits have scheduled official visits to Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights are still trying to land their second commitment of the class and hope to use their official visit weekends in late May and early June to round out most of their 2027 recruiting class.
Two of the new official visits have been scheduled for May 29th. Those are unranked 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive lineman Dallas Ward from Peach Tree City, Georgia,
and 5-foot-11, 180-pound unranked Safety Delorean Airall from Boca Raton, Florida. Ward has received interest from schools such as Cincinnati, Army, Navy, and UMass, with Rutgers being the heavy favorite to earn his commitment. Airall has received attention from Florida State, UConn, Louisville, and Cincinnati, among others.
The other two are scheduled for June 12th. Those are for unranked 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end James Westervelt from Bel Air, Maryland, and 3-star 5-foot-11 running back Kamari Holloway from Durham, North Carolina. Westervelt has received interest from Northeast schools such as Boston College, Temple, and Navy, with Rutgers being the favorite to land him. Rutgers is also the favorite to land Holloway, who has received offers from East Carolina, Appalachian State, and Memphis, among others. Holloway attends the same high school as another Rutgers target, Safety Lance Henderson, who has an official visit scheduled on May 29th.
Holloway is the only one of the four so far to receive a national ranking, as he is rated at the No. 81 best running back in the class.
With the addition of these four, 18 players have now signed up to participate in Rutgers official visit weekends. So far, all of these players who have rankings are rated as three stars, but many are still awaiting a ranking.
