The Miami Dolphins announced on Monday six candidates for their vacant general manager position, requesting interviews with each of them. San Francisco 49ers Vice President of Player Personnel Tari Aham, 49ers Assistant General Manager RJ Gillen, 49ers Director of Scouting and Football Operations Josh Williams, Philadelphia Eagles Assistant General Manager Alec Halaby, Los Angeles Rams Assistant General Manager John McKay, and Green Bay Packers Vice President of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan
were all listed as potential hires. On Tuesday, a seventh name was added to the list.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler added Los Angeles Chargers Assistant General Manager Chad Alexander to the list of targets for the Dolphins. Alexander joined the Chargers last offseason after six years with the New York Jets as their Director of Player Personnel. From 1999 until joining the Jets in 2019, Alexander worked in the Baltimore Ravens’ front office, working in various positions, including as an area scout and as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel.
Current Dolphins interim GM Champ Kelly is also in consideration to stay, removing the interim title if he is hired.
Miami is believed to be conducting their initial round of interviews virtually, with the goal to complete all of them by Wednesday. They will then move to in-person interviews for a second round of consideration.
