Sean McVay reported that Davante Adams had a successful surgery, and as far as the head coach is aware, Adams could be back closer to six weeks from now than 10. Adams being back healthy and sooner than later would be good news for L.A.
Six to 10 weeks was the projected time Adams would be out with his hamstring injury. If he missed the full 10 weeks his season would be in jeopardy. While six weeks missed could have Adams rejoining the Rams at a very important stretch of the season. The Rams have to keep
winning to make Adams comeback all the more relevant.
Hopefully for Adams and the Rams, his recovery continues to trend in a positive way. Of course, the Rams have plenty of other players are on the mend as well. Can the Rams keep their season afloat while players like Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, Nate Landman and more recover?
The Rams, ready or not, play again this Sunday. They will have to hope they are healed enough to win by then.
Sean McVay shares positive update on Davante Adams’ return timeline (ramswire)
“McVay told reporters Wednesday that Adams will probably return “closer to the shorter term” of the 6-to-10-week timeline, which means he could be back in the mix shortly after the team’s Week 11 bye. Adams ruptured his hamstring in Week 6 against the Cardinals and underwent surgery on it recently.
Adams already missed last week’s game against the Raiders, which was his first of the season. He’s required to miss at least three more while on injured reserve.“
Rams OLB Myles Garrett and TE Terrance Ferguson won’t return this week (ramswire)
“We will not start Myles’ or Terrance Ferguson’s clock this week,” McVay said.
Garrett has been out since undergoing knee surgery after the team’s Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams never gave a firm timetable for his return, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported it was a six-week timeline. This will now be Garrett’s seventh missed game, so his recovery is taking longer than expected.
McVay even admitted that he knows “it’s frustrating.”

Rams-Chargers injury report: Latest on Trent McDuffie, Nate Landman (ramswire)
“With each passing week, it seems the Los Angeles Rams suffer a new injury and share disappointing news on Myles Garrett. That held true again this week, though there are some glimmers of hope.
While Garrett and Ferguson won’t return this week, Trent McDuffie and Nate Landman are both trending up. McDuffie will be a limited participant on Wednesday, while Landman has cleared the concussion protocol and will be a full participant.
Coleman Shelton will miss practice due to a hip injury, and Colby Parkinson is also being held out because of a rib injury. Sean McVay said Joe Cardona has an ankle injury, which will cause him to miss Wednesday’s practice.“
Rams shake up special teams, sign Josh Karty and Jake McQuaide to practice squad (ocregister)
“The Rams (3-4) signed long snapper Jake McQuaide to the practice squad after Joe Cardona injured his ankle early in Sunday’s victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Cardona did not practice on Wednesday as he nursed the injury.
McQuaide, 38, returned to the Rams for a second stint last season after spending the first 10 years of his career with the franchise. He was brought in to replace Alex Ward after the field goal unit struggled with its consistency.
The kicker who was replaced simultaneously with Ward last year was Josh Karty. And on Wednesday, the Rams also signed Karty to their practice squad.“

From the Podium: Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford preview matchup against Chargers at SoFi Stadium (therams.com)
““I really couldn’t care less what the record says. I see a team that’s really good. They’ve had a chance to win a lot of these games. This league is so open in terms of, week-in and week-out, every single team, you’re thinking you know something, but this is a really good football team, well coached, good personnel, and so we got our hands full.” – McVay
McVay has continuously repeated all season long that “humility is only a day away.” Despite being the only team left in the NFL without a win, the Chargers are “excellent on defense. They’re really well coached. I know how good of a coach (offensive coordinator) Mike McDaniel (is) and how good they are offensively with their personnel,” according to McVay.”

Rams Reunite With Jake McQuaide, Joshua Karty
The Rams re-signed Karty to their practice squad in December 2025, but the Arizona Cardinals signed him to their active roster later that month. Arizona released Karty in June.
