In this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, we focused on the Washington Mystics, who are making a playoff push. We asked you whether you believe that they will make the 2026 WNBA Playoffs. Sure, they are now 17-12. But Washington is very young, and the front office (if I didn’t say it enough times) has made very little effort to bring in impact players unless they are draft picks.
Most pundits believed that the Mystics would be a lottery team in 2026. So did I. But I’m pleased that they are overachieving,
or improving faster than expected. And nearly everyone who voted in the survey believed they would make the playoffs.
FanDuel, who is quite stingy with the Washington Wizards, isn’t so harsh on the Mystics, who have +10000 odds if they win the 2026 WNBA championship. That’s eighth in the league and it corroborates that bookies believe that the Mystics will make the playoffs though a championship will be a stretch.
