The television specials roll on for AEW with Holiday Bash airing on Wednesday, December 17 from Manchester, England. The three-hour broadcast will feature Mercedes Moné bringing a team of killers, three Continental
Classic tournament matches, FTR defending the tag titles, the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale, the Young Bucks with a chance to win back their one million dollars, and more.
The Holiday Bash lineup currently includes:
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs. Bang Bang Gang
- Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale: Ricochet, Mark Davis, Anthony Bowens, Brody King, Max Caster, Shelton Benjamin, and more
- Kenny Omega & Young Bucks vs. Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, & Hechicero for $1 million dollars
- Gold League: Kyle Fletcher vs. PAC
- Blue League: Orange Cassidy vs. Mascara Dorada
- Blue League: Jon Moxley vs. Roderick Strong
- Mercedes Moné, Athena, Marina Shafir, & Megan Bayne vs. Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, Toni Storm, & Mina Shirakawa
- Contract signing for AEW World Championship bout with Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland
Two moments stuck out on Collision to hype this show. Mercedes Moné crashed the championship celebration party to insult the Babes of Wrath and the Timeless Love Bombs. Mina Shirakawa told Mercedes to shut up, Toni Storm was game for a fight, Harley Cameron pointed out the 4-on-1 numbers, and Willow Nightingale mocked the CEO for having no friends. Mercedes replied that she will bring a team of killers to fight them.
That was an interesting tease to think about how Mercedes would fill out her team. We didn’t have to wait long for the answer. Commentary later revealed that Athena, Marina Shafir, and Megan Bayne will be part of Mercedes’ motley crew. I’m going to need a vignette of Mercedes’ mercenaries looking mean and nasty.
The second moment was the frustration from Anthony Bowens when informed that Max Caster would also be a contestant in the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale. Let’s go, Max. You’re the best wrestler alive!
What’s your take on AEW’s lineup for the Holiday Bash special?
